FANCIFUL ANGEL 2ND IN GRADE 1 ON US DEBUT

A huge run from Fanciful Angel in the Joe Hirsch on his US debut, just getting up for 2nd place behind Beach Patrol, who beat him in the Million too. A good result all around as he picks up $100k for new connections yet ran to a figure just below what we achieved with him at Arlington. Interestingly before the race he looked calmer than ever, they had apparently done a lot of stalls training with him and you have to be impressed by how easily they got him to load, while he jumped out right on terms with the rest of the field.
During the race he pulled as hard as he ever, as expected for his first try at 12f, and it’s a testament of the horse’s ability that he was able to run on so well having been that keen.
He may well now be sent to the Breeders Cup Turf at Del Mar on 5th November which will be a further climb in class but perhaps that, and maybe a faster pace might actually help him. US racing is definitely his forte anyway, so great to see him thriving there and he looked a really happy horse.
