FIRST DOWN BIDS FOR JEBEL SUCCESS

It’s been a busy start to the UAE season for Touch Gold, which has already included 2 winners and First Down will bid to make it a third as he goes at Jebel Ali on Friday.

Recently purchased at the Horses in Training sale back in March from the Ali Al Rahyi yard for 110,000aed, the 6yo was well held on his first run of the season at Meydan, but very much needed that run and better is expected this time.

He’s trained well at home subsequently and though we’re still finding out what his optimum trip is, his form last year would suggest this intermediate 7f test will suit, with his best run arguably having come over that C&D. Dropping slightly in grade from last time, he carries top weight off a mark of 70 and Richie Mullen will once again take the ride.
