Majestic Thunder was bought as an unraced Dubawi gelding at the Godolphin Racing In Dubai Sale, and we were delighted to get him for just 80,000 AED. He’s well-bred sort, out of the Group 2-placed Flame Of Gibraltar and a full-brother to Dubawi Flame, a winner from just 5 starts in Qatar, while his half brother has been placed at Group level. We were impressed by him physically at the sale, looking a typical sort by his all-conquering stallion.
After making a hugely encouraging debut when a fast-finishing third at Meydan, he was put away for the season and returned with a very promising second over 6f at Jebel Ali.
He again filled the same spot in a similar event at Meydan over 1m, before getting off the mark at the 7th attempt, doing so in good style over 10f back at Jebel Ali in February. He then followed it up impressively a month later in a strong handicap over the same C&D off a mark of 75.
Having needed his first 2 runs of this season, Majestic ran a very good fourth in a highly competitive handicap over 1m at Meydan in January, before picking up another cheque when fifth on his latest outing.
He remains a horse with plenty of potential, particularly back up in trip now, whilst switching to turf is also an option which has largely been unexplored and is sure to suit him.
