Raven’s Corner looks all set for the Godolphin Mile, where he will become the first horse to represent Touch Gold Racing and Sean Ewing at the Dubai World Cup meeting.
It is a real honour to have a runner on World Cup night, it was our main aim for the season, and to be involved is another huge step in the right direction for the syndicate.
Raven’s finds himself up against a competitive Godolphin Mile field, and unfortunately the draw has not been kind to him, he finds himself in the widest gate of all, 14 of 14. A mile is a new trip for him in the UAE, though he was runner-up twice in maidens over the distance on turf in the UK. For those reasons, he starts as an outsider, though we certainly know he possesses the speed to match the best here.
He’s been prepared beautifully by Satish, Bhupat and all the team at Zabeel throughout the season, and it’s a testament to their skills that Raven’s will be in peak condition on Saturday. It is a huge night for the yard, with some strongly fancied horses elsewhere on the card.
Richie Mullen again takes the ride and we’d like to thank him, along with Pat Cosgrave who has filled in when Richie was unavailable, for all the work they’ve put in this season to ensure it’s been a successful one, especially after his well documented issues with the stalls.
We wish all those involved with Raven’s the very best, regardless of the result, we are sure it will be a night to remember.
