Touch Gold are triple handed for the first meeting of the year at Jebel Ali on Friday, with Au Coeur going in the 1m handicap whilst Welford and Birmano both take their chance in the 6f contest later on the card.
Au Coeur is having his first try back at the trip he won his maiden over, after numerous creditable efforts in 9f handicaps last season. He’s in good form at home and will hopefully give another honest account despite being hindered by a bad draw in stall 13.
Welford and Birmano should be set for good campaigns after laying foundations from a couple of runs at the backend of last season. Both will likely benefit from the run, but have also impressed with their homework and should start the year positively.
It’s been a long wait since March, but it’s exciting to have a large representation from the get-go and we can’t wait to get going!
