There’s only a handful meetings left in the Dubai season, though Touch Gold are strongly represented at Jebel Ali on Friday with 3 runners over the 6 races on the card.

We start with Au Coeur in the opener, the 9f handicap. A winner on his first start for Touch Gold, he’s arguably been very unlucky not to win in handicaps since, bumping into one on both occasions. Still he’s only gone up 1lb in the meantime, and has to go in with a favourite’s chance once more.

Speedy Move is up next as he goes in the 7f handicap, coming off the back of two very creditable efforts at Meydan. He’s becoming really well handicapped, has proven form at Jebel Ali and is one who always given his all, meaning another good account looks likely.

Finally Welford has his first run for the syndicate, in the penultimate 6f handicap. A 160,000aed purchase at the Racing in Dubai sale last April, he’s had a few niggling problems which have kept him off the track since then, but has pleased in his work and starts his UAE career on a good mark, given he was  rated over a stone higher at his peak in the UK.

The 6f trip will naturally be on the short side for him, he was last seen running over considerably further on turf, but he this is a gentle starting point and all being well he will be back for the final meeting here in 2 weeks’ time. Richie Mullen will ride him and Au Coeur, with Tadhg O’Shea on board Speedy Move. We wish all involved today the very best of luck.
